Highlights

  • Two nights camping on the Deosai Plateau (4,114m) — the "Land of Giants"

  • Shigar Fort restoration and a traditional Balti dinner
  • Boat trip on Upper Kachura Lake
  • Trek to the Katpana cold desert dunes

About the expedition

A focused trip for travellers who want to dig deep into Baltistan — Pakistan’s “little Tibet” — rather than race through the whole north. We spend most of the time around Skardu, with a centrepiece 2-night camping trip across the Deosai Plateau in peak wildflower season.

Moderate fitness expected: most days are easy, but the Deosai crossing involves long jeep transfers at 4,000m+ and basic camping conditions.
